When I started this site, I didn’t realize how much work is needed to verify each vacation home. We have 1 great helper with investigation background and seems we are still in the large backlog of documents!
The main problem to verify a vacation rental that many owners feel that having a vacation home website or few listings on vrbo, homeaway and similar portals are enough. I am getting many emails that question the need of submitting the proof of ownership. I want to repeat – this service is to protect our renters from vacation rental fraud and at the same time to protect owners from simple vacation home identity thief.
It is a long process to build a trust from travelers to private vacation home owners, but together we can do it!
