Concerning the payment arrangement,i am also assuring you that won’t be a problem as one of our company associate in state would be paying the one on my behalf and i had already spoke with him about this and he said that won’t be any problem that we should let him know when everything is set so that he can issue you out the payment Asap.

The payment that you would be receiving will be in excess which you are to deduct the week rent and our flight arrangement.I would have love to pay the Traveling Agent but our company associate that would issue out the payment will leave England by Monday at most.

As soon as you get the Euro’s Check ,you will get it deposited in your bank for clearance and after the money has been cleared into your account,you would deduct the upfront payment and send the remaining balance,which would be for our flight expenses,BTA (Basic Travelers
Allowance) and some other necessary paperwork’s. The balance should be sent to our traveling agent whose information i would give to you as soon as you receive payment.

I can’t tell you how glad I am to have found this blog!!! We just got a request for reservation, with similar weard proposals, overpayment etc. It rose our suspicion and look what we found….

Maybe it was the mere 2 minutes that it took to reply to our response to his enquiry that aroused our suspicions, since it would have taken most people a good 15 minutes to have written such a lengthy reply, but his grammar and literacy level was amusing to say the least, so to improve his chance to succeed in his scams Mr Francis would do well to invest in English lessons! Try calling his contact number too, and it’ll confirm your suspicions when they tell you that they’re the Voice Mailbox for a Mr FRANK, not Mr Francis! It did make us laugh though Be careful and take a moment to check would be our advice, as he’s certain to keep trying…… Anyone genuine want to rent our beautiful house in Spain?? The almost 10 week reservation that we had looks like it’ll fall through!! Ha! DB

Yup, he’s still at it. Exactly the same email, same overpayment nonsense, sent to me in UK 3rd April 2010 via Chez Nous rental web site for our south of France apartment. Clever guy chose a Bank Holiday when the Advertiser’s offices are closed, so I cannot immediately alert them to the scam. Thank goodness for your forum!

Just had the same. Have replied telling him to piss off, get a job instead of wasting people’s time and trying to get their hard earned cash. Told him he is infamous for his scam mails and to do a google search on his email addy to see there is actually a whole forum dedicated to his crap scam.

This scammer has been using my mailing address as his home address. I run a rental company in Destin, Florida and he contacted me 2 years ago. He obviously stole my mailing address of 121 Madie Lane, Santa Rosa Beach, Fl 32459 when we communicated.
I have been getting returned checks that he sends out for these rental scams. Is there anything that I can do?

the same ‘David Francis’ email came re: renting our house in Greece for 2 months (as above 1/May-30/June, two different places at the same time!!). Thanks for all the information above, this is definately a spam, though via a rental web site. Donnot bother to respond.

Yep, we live in Austria and get so many of these it is unbelievable. The David Francis email came today and is a carbon copy of the one pasted here! This blog has helped alot so thanks to all you guys out there who keep posting the info.
